I'm So Oval The Holidays!

 Early in this years holiday decorating, notice just a few snowflakes floating in cabinets.

 Dressed up my large oval mirror with loop tied ribbons made from deep red, heavy fabric, holds shape!

Threaded the ribbons through openings in frame, added a longer piece at bottom, sprinkled with snowflake stickers..................

Roman Circle is Just White For Job!

Design Doc Mike wanted to keep the circle motif going from the !930s Atlantic City boardwalkesque, Skee Ball centric gameroom to the NYC Empire Dinerish, Snack Bar kitchen. He chose Ceilume's Roman Circle  design in white this time(straight out of the box), for ceiling, again in combination with their Polyline (in black, sprayed glossy), and edged with Armstrong's #271 (the smoothest MD could find of their styles), roller painted high gloss black.

Ceiling Tile To Art File.

MD The Design Doctor was recently with challenged with doctoring up a basement ceiling that had to be covered with ceiling tiles to provide easy access to electrical wires and gas lines for the home owners.

Doc Dodson diagnosed the situation and prescribed a new 'drug', a relatively new ceiling tile product made in California called Ceilume in combination with the more familiar Armstrong product.

Ceilume is a wonderful product, super easy to install, paintable, and many are made of recycled raw materials!  They come in great variety of super cool designs and colors and add an almost instantaneous
hip and/or traditional design solution when ceiling tiles are a must, or even when they are not!

MD had a blast spray and brush painting them and using them straight out of the box, he chose their Roman Circle, Polyline, and Regency panel designs.

Ceilume's Roman Circle has 9 circles, guess how many balls you get per Skee Ball play!?

MD brush painted the Roman Circle tiles silver to match the curved line graphics on the walls and gave the flanking, matte black, Polyline panels a spray of clear gloss coat for added shine.

Sheer Genius?

Okay, so the "doctor's" all white, sheer window treatment was fine for winter but he felt the urge to splurge with color for summer 2012. Hmmm, what color to roll with?, how about the $1 can of teal paint MD picked up at Habitat For Humanity's Re-Store in Wilmo!!!? AND it is the exact same shade as his examining table (aka the living room sofa)! A few shakes, dips, and vertical roller stripes later and the Doc's office was looking teal nice.  

Lilu likes the color too,Woof!

Doc Dodson had enough paint left over to roll out a bold stripe on an improved chair slipcover.

By the way...A $7 dollar Ikea pillow cover took a 20"form from Tired Taupe to Marimekoesque Merriment!

Pizza Pie Packaging to Pantry Polka Dots.

Yes!, these are the same pics from my Torchere To Eatagere post but this time you are looking at the pizza packaging that became polka dots for my kitchen (and pantry), walls. I save the clean, circular, carboard inserts from the frozen pizzas I occasionally eat after I've added my own zippy fresh ingreeds, of course, cut them to desired size and tape 'em to the walls. I love their shape (pizza), their color (burnt crust), and their price (free)! Pizza tonight?
